Boat trips
There are a number of pleasure boat trips that leave Akbuk's picturesque harbour each morning. Discover lovely beaches and coves along the stunning coastline and enjoy a delicious barbeque lunch, all for just £10. Some trips will stop and let you snorkel in the crystal clear waters.
Boat trips from nearby Didim are also very popular. Many different tour companies operate boat trips that visit various different bays and islands where passengers can jump off and have a bit of a swim/snorkel in the sea. Pamukkale
Pamukkale is a World Heritage site and regarded as the 8th wonder of the world by locals. An attraction of great natural interest created by mineral rich water from one of a number of very hot springs. Water cascading over the cliff edge cooled and hardened leaving deposits of calcium. Great natural pools, shelves and ridges formed becoming the largest and finest example of elaborate calcium formation in the world and now dominates the landscape for miles around. Temple of Apollo
The magnificent Temple of Apollo (also known as Didymaion) can be found at Didyma. Some date it back to 2nd millennium BC, however the earliest evidence of the temple found thus far date to the end of the 8th century BC. Thousands of visitors are attracted here every year to marvel at the 60 feet tall columns and impressive stone carvings. | ![]() |

Lake Bafa
Lake Bafa is a listed bird sanctuary situated at the foot Mount Latmus, each year hundreds of thousands of ducks and aquatic birds migrate here. Crested pelicans are the most important as they are nearing extinction with only 2,000 left in the world and this is their third biggest colony. The area has been declared a nature park of some 12,281 hectares. It is a haven for nature lovers with picnic areas, camp sites, bird-watching posts and trails. | ![]() |
