Temple of Apollo
The magnificent Temple of Apollo (also known as Didymaion) can be found at Didyma. Some date it back to 2nd millennium BC, however the earliest evidence of the temple found thus far date to the end of the 8th century BC. Lake Bafa
Lake Bafa is a listed bird sanctuary situated at the foot Mount Latmus, each year hundreds of thousands of ducks and aquatic birds migrate here. Crested pelicans are the most important as they are nearing extinction with only 2,000 left in the world and this is their third biggest colony. The two closest airports to Akbuk are Bodrum International airport and Izmir airport. Bodrum is around an hour's drive to Akbuk, Izmir about two hours.
Remember to set aside £10 per head for your visa when you arrive at the airport in Turkey.
